Prime Minister Narendra Modi Paid His Respects To The Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee

On the occasion of the  birth anniversary of the late former Prime Minister, Hon’ble Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid tribute to him. He remembered Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s dedication to his duties as a Prime Minister and his selfless service to the nation.

He recalled that Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s father was a scientist and highlighted his efforts for the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Prime Minister Modi also announced that a memorial will be launched in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of his death anniversary.

Who was Atal Bihari Vajpayee?

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a politician, journalist, speaker, poet and the 13th Prime Minister of India. He was born to Sri Krishnabihari Bajpai, a teacher, and had close ties with Kanpur. During his political career, he was a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and later served as Prime Minister from 1998 to 2004.

Vajpayee was known for being a compassionate friend of the proletariat and a people’s leader. He was also highly respected for his humanitarian values. His contribution to India’s development is remembered by all.

In 1951, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was seconded by his organization, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), to work for the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), a Hindu right-wing political party that was established that same year. Vajpayee worked alongside Deendayal Upadhyaya, who had also been seconded by the RSS. The formation of the BJS represented a major milestone in India’s political history, as it marked an important step towards establishing the Hindu nationalist ideology.
