Unstoppable Khawaja slams century as Australia dominates India in 4th Test Day 1 with Green on the brink of a half-century

Australia chose to bat first and ended the first day of the fourth Test match against India with a total score of 255/4 in 90 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Although wickets were falling fast, Usman Khawaja remained at the crease while the other batters to have left were Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, and Peter Handscomb. Australia needs to win the match to level the series 2-2, and a positive outcome for India will see them join Australia in the WTC finals scheduled for June.

Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, said Siraj was rested and Shami was back, as it is nice to have some time off to regroup as a team. Rohit also responded to coach Ravi Shastri’s criticism of the Indian team for being overconfident, saying it was rubbish and “ruthless” is the word that comes to his mind.

On the first day of the fourth Test match between Australia and India, Usman Khawaja scored an unbeatable century, while Australia dominated the game. The team needs to win the match to level the series 2-2, and a positive outcome will see them join the Aussies in the WTC finals scheduled for June. However, a draw or defeat won’t end India’s chances, but it will depend on the outcome of the Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Both teams started with the same players, and Rohit Sharma stated that they would have batted first. Recently, Rohit responded to Ravi Shastri’s criticism of the Indian team being overconfident for the third Test match and stated that they weren’t overconfident and that they wanted to do their best in all four games.

Australian batsman Peter Handscomb was batting at number five and appeared to be comfortable, but he was eventually dismissed for 17 runs off 27 balls by Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s deliver. This was Shami’s second wicket of the day.
