This year, I’ve become more acutely aware of the detrimental effects that our actions toward nature can have.
As a young adult, I was captivated by the environment and its protection. I strove to be an advocate for conservation efforts; however, what ultimately sparked those interests for me was not finding opportunities to help animals or the planet – it was rather their plight that compelled me! As such, all my efforts have been focused on alleviating their suffering.
This gave birth to my passion for environmentalism. Today, I am determined to instill in others a similar enthusiasm towards preserving it – and so I created this blog as a medium through which to foster awareness and encourage action against climate change.
I have witnessed first-hand how devastating climate change is becoming, with extreme weather events occurring more frequently across the globe. From witnessing the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Sandy firsthand in 2012; witnessing wildfires ravaging forests and prairies in Saskatchewan; even experiencing flooding first hand during Typhoon Haiyan – nothing can compare with the real experience of dealing with these calamities on a daily basis!
The devastation wrought by climate change is truly appalling, from rising sea levels threatening coastal areas to droughts and storms destroying entire regions and leaving millions without access to water – all while melting glaciers are shrinking at alarming rates.
1. To educate people on how to be more eco friendly in their everyday life
The primary objective of this organization is to educate people on how they can be more eco-friendly in their everyday lives. This way, any person or family can equip themselves with knowledge and education about sustainable practices.
2. To spread awareness about environmental pollution and its effects on the planet
Last, but certainly not least – the primary impetus of this organization: raising awareness about environmental degradation and its deleterious effects on mankind.
For instance, approximately one-quarter of all plastics are currently circulating in the world’s oceans – a truly devastating statistic. If no action is taken soon to curtail this trend, the ramifications could prove catastrophic! Consequently, it is imperative that we rectify such an issue as swiftly as possible. Typhoon Haiyan left one billion people without access to potable water; releasing toxic chemicals into their surroundings can have adverse consequences for both humans and animals alike. All of these take place on a regular basis – these are just a few examples of today’s environmental issues! With these circumstances in mind, what better opportunity than now to educate others about their plight?
This organization has succeeded in providing an informative platform to reach out to people who may not be entirely aware of the importance of protecting our natural resources. When they learn more about these topics and have the opportunity to discuss them with experts like themselves, many individuals come away from conversations feeling empowered and eager to act upon them. That’s why Conservation International exists!
3. To provide support and resources for environmental conservation efforts around the world
For over a century, The Natural Resources Defense Council has championed the protection of our Earth’s environment by employing a unique model of activism. Rather than adopting an approach that solely focuses on litigation, they utilize policy advocacy as their primary method of resistance against those who seek to jeopardize the planet’s well-being.
To date, this remarkable organization has dedicated itself to providing support and assistance to countless groups across the globe. For instance, it provides resources in such endeavors as sustainable agriculture and protecting endangered species; educating communities about climate change issues as well as offering them access to renewable energy systems like solar power and wind turbines.
